出産可能年齢女性における飲酒状況－アメリカ，1991～1999年

妊娠期間中の飲酒は出産障害、幼児の精神遅滞および神経発達障害を来すため、アメリカでは2010年、妊娠女性の94%が禁酒することを目標に掲げている。今回、CDCは1991年から1999年のBehavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System(BRFSS)データより、出産可能年齢女性における飲酒状況を分析した。全米50州の18歳から44歳の女性を無作為に抽出し、30日以内の飲酒状況を電話調査した。1995年から1999年、計107,141名の調査対象中、4,695名(4.3%)が妊娠中であった。妊娠女性の飲酒率は1991年12.4%から1995年16.3%へ上昇したが、その後1997年11.4%、1999年12.8%と低下した。逆に深酒率(1回の飲酒で5杯以上)や習慣的飲酒率(週7杯以上または1回あたり5杯以上)は変わらず、深酒率は1995年2.9%、1997年1.8%、1999年2.7%、習慣的飲酒率はそれぞれ3.5%、2.1%、3.3%であった。また、非妊娠女性の飲酒率は1995年53.2%、1997年52.8%、1999年53.3%、深酒率はそれぞれ11.2%、10.8%、12.3%であった。妊娠女性の飲酒率は30歳以上、就業者、独身女性にて高値であった。非妊娠女性においても就業者、独身女性での飲酒率が高く、さらに白人、高学歴者での飲酒率が高かった。また、深酒や習慣的飲酒は30歳未満で多かった。CDCでは、多様な地域・人種・民族の女性や若年齢層に対して、アルコールによる胎児への悪影響に関する認識を高め、妊娠期の飲酒率低下を推進している(詳細は＜www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/fas.)。
