Availability of Less Nutritious Snack Foods and Beverages in Secondary Schools － Selected States, 2002-2008

中等学校における栄養価の低いスナック食品および飲料の購入可能性－選択州、2002～2008年

CDC は国内40州における2002～2008年の公立中等学校School Health Profilesを分析し、栄養価の低いスナック食品や飲料を購入することができない学校に関する調査を行った。生徒が学校内の自販機、売店、食堂および軽食堂にてキャンディや塩辛いスナック食品を購入ができない学校は2006年:45.7(14.7～85.8)%から2008 年:61.2(18.2～88.2)%に増加しており(40州中央値)、ほとんど変化のないアーカンソー、フロリダ、バーモント州を除く37州にて増加しており、3年分のデータが得られた31州ではネブラスカ州を除く全ての州で直線的に増加していた。また、飲料に関しては炭酸飲料の購入ができない学校は、全体で2006年:37.8(14.0～74.7)%から2008年:62.9(25.6～92.8)%、スポーツ飲料は2006 年:28.4(9.8～69.5)%から2008年:43.7(22.7～84.8)%と増加、34州にて有意に増加したが、州により大きな開きが認められた。このようなアメリカ農務省の学校給食プログラムの範囲外にあるスナック食品や飲料の過剰な摂取は肥満につながるため、学校では国の栄養基準を満たす食品、飲料が供給されるよう、国や州、非政府機関による技術的援助が行われている。
