州の電子疾病サーベイランスシステム－アメリカ、2007年と2010年

National Electronic Disease Surveillance System(NEDSS)は、CDCと50州との間で公衆衛生サーベイランスデータを交換するためのwebベースシステムである。2007年にCouncil of State and Territorial Epidemiologists(CSTE)が実施した50州の電子疾病サーベイランス評価において、州の保健局はサーベイランスデータの受信・管理・アクセスに関してかなりの能力を示した。しかし電子サーベイランスシステムには多くの開発者が関与しており基準もないため、サーベイランスシステムのデザインと機能は様々であった。2010年、CSTEは50州の電子サーベイランスシステムの状態や機能性の進歩を評価するため追跡調査を行った。2007年から2010年にかけて、完全に運用可能な一般的伝染性疾患(GCD)電子サーベイランスシステムの保有州は40州から47州に増加した(増加率17.5%)。また相互運用可能なGCDサーベイランスシステムの保有州は13州から39州に増加し(増加率211.5%)、統合システム(共通のデータベースとユーザーインターフェイスを共有する連係システムあるいはアプリケーション)の保有州は23州から34州に増加し(増加率22.4%)、電子検査報告(ELR)を受信する能力のある州は28州から42州に増加した(増加率20.0%)。住民の健康改善のためには、電子疾病サーベイランスシステムの機能性をさらに高めていく必要がある。
