Obesity in K-7 Students － Anchorage, Alaska, 2003-04 to 2010-11 School Years

キンダーから7年生の生徒における肥満－アラスカ州アンカレッジ、2003～04年から2010～11年度

アメリカでは小児の肥満が大きな問題となっており、1999～2010年の全国データでは2～19歳の女児の肥満の増加は止まったが、男児では増加し続けている。アラスカ州アンカレッジの都市部では、2003～04年度にて、アンカレッジおよびマタヌスカ・スシトナ学区(ASDおよびMSBSD)のキンダー(K)、1、3、5、7年生の約16.8%が肥満であると推定され、アメリカ全体での数値とほぼ一致している(2003～06年度にて6～11歳の小児の17.0%)。そこで今回、Alaska Department of Health and Social Servicesがこの2つの学区にて2003～04および2010～11年度の公立小学校の児童(K、1、3、5、7年生)のBMI値データを分析した結果を報告する。調査対象は平均19,100名/年であり、年齢別および性別におけるBMI値95パーセンタイル以上を肥満とした。これらの学区における肥満率は2003～04年度:16.8%、2010～11年度:16.3%(3.0%減)であり、男児では18.1%から17.1%(5.5%減)、非ヒスパニック系白人にて18.1%から12.7%(29.8%減)となっており、女児、アメリカインディアン/アラスカ原住民(AI/AN)および他の人種では有意な減少は認めなかった。学年別ではK、1、3年生:14.8%から14.0%(5.4%減)、5、7年生:19.4%から19.8%であり、地域別ではASD:18.0%から17.6%(2.2%減)、MSBSD:12.5%から12.4%であった。さらに社会経済状態(SES)および学年別の肥満率は、低SESの5、7年生にてAI/AN:26.0%、白人:22.4%、その他:31.1%と最も高く、2010～11年度における全体での肥満率は低SES:22.6%に対し、高SES:13.4%であり、肥満率の高いAI/ANおよび低SESに対する肥満抑制を目的とした積極的な介入の必要性が示唆される。
