Injuries and Traumatic Psychological Exposures Associated with the South Napa Earthquake — California, 2014

ナパ南での地震による負傷および心的外傷的曝露 ― カリフォルニア州、2014年

2014年8月24日、カリフォルニア州ナパ郡を震源とするマグニチュード6.0の地震が発生した。この地震はサンフランシスコ湾エリアでは25年間で最大であり、広範囲の停電と5件の住宅火災、道路、水道および1,600棟の建物に損害を与え、2名が死亡した。8月25日、Napa County Public HealthはCalifornia Department of Public Healthに、地震による負傷やメンタルヘルスへの影響など、被災後の健康調査に関する援助を依頼、9月23日にはSolano County Public Healthも同様の援助を要請した。これを受けてナパ郡ナパ市にて地震から3週間後、ソラノ郡ヴァレーホ市にて6週間後より世帯レベルでの調査(Community Assessment for Public Health Emergency Response:CASPER)が開始された。ナパ市では9月16～18日に201世帯、ヴァレーホ市では10月17～20日に175世帯が調査を完了(回答率はそれぞれ41％、38％)、アンケートの結果、自宅の構造的損害(要修理)はナパ市：42％、ヴァレーホ市：20％、家財への損害はそれぞれ94％、52％が受けており、家族に1名以上の負傷者がいるとの回答はそれぞれ23％、4％(うち片付け中の負傷はそれぞれ48％、37％)であった。負傷の種類は切り傷が多く、刺し傷、擦り傷、打撲傷と続いた。また、家族が心的外傷を負ったとの回答は27％、9％であり、それぞれ30％、20％がメンタルヘルスサポートを受けていた。ナパ郡ではこれらの患者に対する心的サポートを継続するとともに、地震に対する備えの重要性を広く普及させるなどの対策を行っている。
