Neonatal Herpes Simplex Virus Infection Following Jewish Ritual Circumcisions that Included Direct Orogenital Suction － New York City, 2000-2011

直接口腔性器吸引を含むユダヤ教の割礼儀式後の新生児単純ヘルペスウイルス感染症－ニューヨーク市、2000～2011年

単純ヘルペスウイルス(HSV)感染症は口唇ヘルペス(HSV-1)や性器ヘルペス(HSV-1、HSV-2)の原因となり、新生児におけるHSV感染症は死亡や身体障害をもたらす可能性がある。ニューヨーク市の Department of Health and Mental Hygiene(DOHMH)は、2000年11月～2011年12月に病院外でユダヤ教の儀式である割礼を行った新生児男児11例における検査確定HSV感染症の発症を確認した。11例中10例が入院し、2例が死亡した、6例の親からの報告により、割礼儀式中ユダヤ教正統派の慣習に基づき割礼を施す者(mohel)が自分の口を新たに割礼された陰茎に直接つけ割礼創から血液を吸っていたこと[
