About Us

The International Medical Information Center (known by our abbreviation, IMIC), which originated from the Keio University Shinanomachi Media Center (Kitasato Memorial Medical Library), was established in April 1972 as an incorporated foundation following its approval under the joint jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education, Science, Sports and Culture and the Ministry of Health and Welfare. In April 2013, IMIC transitioned to a general incorporated foundation, in accordance with the acts related to the reform of the public-interest corporation system.

Since our establishment, our business activities have been driven by the goal of contributing to the advancement of medical and healthcare standards. We achieve this by broadly collecting advanced domestic and international medical and healthcare information, expertly analyzing and evaluating it, and processing it into valuable insights to provide this information to pharmaceutical and medical device companies, medical and research institutions, and individual researchers. Through our medical, pharmaceutical, and healthcare information provision services, we aim to contribute broadly to the development of a healthy society.

As part of our medical and healthcare information provision services, IMIC swiftly established a framework for the "collection of safety management information," a task that became available for outsourcing following the revision of the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law in 2005. Since then, we have provided GVP contract service and rapid reporting service for domestic drug safety information (SELIMIC) in the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors. In 2009, we developed and launched IMIC Document Information System (I-dis), which is now widely utilized by many clients. Furthermore, we offer services for creating various information documents for proper use of drugs. For academia, we provide academic society management support, IMIC Gakkai Management System IGMS, and support for promoting evidence-based medicine. In 2022, we also expanded into education and training support through our e-learning video training service (I-Campus).

In the fields of medicine, pharmacy, and healthcare, the volume of information is expanding rapidly in tandem with the increasing sophistication of academic research. Processing this vast amount of information requires a high degree of specialized expertise. Moving forward, IMIC will continue to refine our skills daily to swiftly deliver highly reliable and accurate information, contributing to a healthy society through our diverse range of services.
