Declines in Influenza Vaccination Coverage Among Health Care Personnel in Acute Care Hospitals During the COVID-19 Pandemic — United States, 2017–2023

COVID-19パンデミック中における急性期病院の医療従事者のインフルエンザワクチン接種率の低下 ― アメリカ、2017年～2023年

医療従事者(HCP)は年1回のインフルエンザワクチン接種が推奨されており、急性期病院はHCPの接種率をCDCのNational Healthcare Safety Networkに報告している。今回、COVID-19パンデミック前の3年間(2017-18年インフルエンザシーズン、2018-19年インフルエンザシーズン、2019-20年インフルエンザシーズン)とパンデミック中の3年間(2020-21年インフルエンザシーズン、2021-22年インフルエンザシーズン、2022-23年インフルエンザシーズン)の急性期病院(5,231)のHCP(48,082,901名)におけるインフルエンザワクチン接種率の変化を分析した。6年間全体での接種率は85.8％、パンデミック前の3年間の接種率はそれぞれ88.6％、90％、90.7％であり、パンデミック中の3年間の接種率はそれぞれ85.9％、80.4％、81.1％に低下した。病院に雇用されているHCP(88.70％)に比べ、実習生/ボランティア(87.9％)、免許をもつ独立開業医(72.6％)にて低く、農村部(86.1％)に比べ郊外にて高く(86.8％)、都市部とは同等であった(85.1％)。急性期病院で働くHCPのインフルエンザワクチン接種は自分自身と入院患者を感染および合併症から守るために重要であるため、ワクチン接種の義務化やオンサイトでの無償提供などの戦略により接種率を高める必要がある。
