Screening Programs for SARS-CoV-2 Infections on a University Campus — Austin, Texas, September 30–November 30, 2020
大学キャンパスにおけるSARS-CoV-2感染症のスクリーニング検査プログラム ― テキサス州オースティン、2020年9月30日~11月30日
テキサス大学オースティン校(UT Austin)では2020年秋にCOVID-19予防策を実施した。同校では2020年9月30日~11月30日におけるにCOVID-19の原因ウイルスであるSARS-CoV-2検査プログラムとして、1)症状のある人またはSARS-CoV-2に曝露した人を対象としたクリニックベースの診断検査、2)無症状の人を対象とした自発的なコミュニティスクリーニング検査、3)感染リスクの高い特定の学生集団を対象とした標的スクリーニング検査を実施した。3)では運動系イベントのシーズンチケット(Big Ticket)を持つ学生にも焦点が当てられた。2020年9月30日~11月30日、32,401件の検査が行われ、学生401名[男187名、女性213名、不明1名、年齢中央値20歳、18~29歳]の感染が確認された。検査別での陽性者数は1)が158/3,044名、2)が195/25,042名、3)が48/4,314名であり、非ヒスパニック系白人の占める割合は、1)58.9%、2)48.7%、3)75.0%と、3)にて有意に多く、全体では55.9%であり、UT Austin学生全体の割合(38.9%)と有意差を認めた。検査結果が陽性であった時点で無症状であった症例の割合は、1)6%、2)23%、3)38%と、3)にて有意に多く、症状が出る前に検査を受けた割合は、1)5.5%、2)14.2%、3)15.0%であり、陽性の結果が判明した後に隔離された人の割合は、1)97.1%、2)91.2%に比べ、3)にて80%と低い傾向であった。感染者が報告した濃厚接触者の平均人数は、1)2.7名、2)3.1名、3)2.6名と同等であり、COVID-19へ感染した可能性のある場所は全体でも3群とも家庭がもっとも多く(全体で44%)、これには学生寮の同室なども含まれた。その次に多い場所は1)、2)では個人宅やアパートの訪問先、3)ではレストラン、学生寮のホールへの訪問先であった。また、3)では1)や2)に比べて、フィットネス施設やレクリエーション施設での感染の割合が多く、屋外での感染は少なかった。これらの感染の特徴として、マスクの非着用率が高く[1)と2)が87.9%、3)が91.4%]、さらなる再感染の予防のために、感染者と濃厚接触者の両方に対し、適切なマスク着用に関するカウンセリングが行われた。
