Community-Associated Outbreak of COVID-19 in a Correctional Facility — Utah, September 2020–January 2021

刑務所におけるCOVID-19の市中感染によるアウトブレイク ― ユタ州、2020年9月～2021年1月

2020年9月17日、ユタ州の刑務所(施設A)は、9月14日に施設Aの収容者を治療した歯科医療従事者(DHCP)にSARS-CoV-2感染が検査で確認されたとの報告を受けた。9月21日、治療を受けた収容者の同室者にもCOVID-19と合致する症状を認めた。2日後、同室者のSARS-CoV-2検査結果が陽性と確認された。9月23日～24日にDHCPから受けた収容者10名をスクリーニング検査したところ、2名にてCOVID-19が確認され、計3例となった(いずれもブロック1に収容)。9月25日、施設の医療スタッフが他のブロック1の収容者171名の検体を検査し、46名にて陽性を確認した。陽性者を隔離し、他のブロック1収容者は検疫下においた。10月1日、陰性であった収容者を再検査したところ57名が陽性となり、ブロック1の174名中、累計106名が陽性となり、その後1月31日までに症例数は計117名となった。入院および死亡例はなかった。また、10月1日、長期療養病棟に入所していた2名の囚人がCOVID-19に合致する症状を来し、RT-PCR検査にてSARS-CoV-2陽性となった。ブロック1と廊下(長さ60フィート、幅12フィート)にて連結するブロック2の収容者174名のうち3名が陽性となり、隔離された。10月3日に残る171名を検査したところ、89名が確認され、ブロック2の陽性者は計92名となった。うち1名が10月12日に入院し、11月14日に死亡した。アウトブレイクはさらに拡大し、2021年1月31日時点で、施設A全体の収容者2,632名中1,368名(発病率52％)、職員550名中88名(同16％)の症例が報告され、収容者の33名が入院し、11名が死亡した。2021年3月2日時点でこのアウトブレイクは進行中であり、COVID-19感染は1,545例(うち収容者1,452名)、入院31例、死亡12例が報告されている。
