Driving Under the Influence of Marijuana and Illicit Drugs Among Persons Aged ≥16 Years — United States, 2018
16歳以上の人におけるマリファナおよび違法薬物の影響下の運転 ― アメリカ、2018年
アメリカでは、酩酊下での運転は違法であるにもかかわらず、2018年には推定で10,511人の飲酒運転による死亡が発生した。一方、これらの死亡事故に対するマリファナおよびその他の違法薬物の関与は不明のままである。薬物乱用・精神衛生管理庁のNational Survey on Drug Use and Health(NSDUH)データによると、2014年、アメリカにおける16~25歳の人のうち12.4%がアルコール影響下での運転をしたことがあり、3.2%がマリファナ影響下で運転をしたことがあった。アルコールの悪影響は十分に証明されているが、違法物質や他の向精神薬(マリファナ、コカイン、メタンフェタミン、オピオイドなど)の影響についてはあまり知られていない。今回、2018年のNSDUHの公共利用データを使用して、16歳以上の人における自己申告によるマリファナおよび違法薬物の影響下での運転に関する最新の推定値を算出し、マリファナ、他の違法薬物の影響下での運転率を年齢、性別、人種/民族別に評価した。2018年では、過去12カ月間に、アメリカの居住者の1,196万人(4.7%)がマリファナの影響下で、230万人(0.9%)がマリファナ以外の違法薬物の影響下で運転していた。マリファナおよびマリファナ以外の違法薬物の影響下での運転率は、男性(各6.2%、1.3%)で女性(各3.2%、0.5%)よりも高かった。マリファナの影響下での運転率は、非ヒスパニック系の多民族にて最も多かった(9.2%)。年齢別のマリファナの影響下での運転率は、0.6%(65歳以上)~12.4%(21~25歳)であった。マリファナ以外の違法薬物の影響下での運転率は、21~25歳と26~34歳で最も多かった(ともに1.9%)。アルコール、薬物、多剤使用時の運転を防止する戦略の開発、評価、実施は、使用した運転手および致死的事故に関与した運転手の標準化された試験と連動し、薬物および多剤使用による運転の理解を深め、予防努力の支援を推進すると考えられる。
