Trends in Meeting Physical Activity Guidelines Among Urban and Rural Dwelling Adults — United States, 2008–2017
都市部および地方に住む成人における身体活動ガイドラインを満たす動向 ― アメリカ、2008年~2017年
CDCは都市部および地方に住む18歳以上の成人において、アメリカの身体活動ガイドライン(2008年)基準を満たしている割合を、2008年~2017年のNational Health Interview Survey(NHIS)データから分析した。ガイドラインでは成人が少なくとも週に150~300分間の中程度の強度、または75~150分間の激しい強度の有酸素運動、またはこれらと同等となるよう組み合わせた有酸素運動を行うこと(有酸素ガイドライン)、週2日以上ですべての主な筋肉群を中程度の強度にて筋肉増強運動を行うこと(筋肉増強ガイドライン)が推奨されている。2008年~2017年、このガイドラインを満たす成人の年齢標準化有病率は、都市部で30.4%(2008年19.4%、2017年25.3%)、地方では47.4%(2008年:13.3%、2017年:19.6%)増加し、都市部、地方、すべての国勢調査地域、すべての人口統計学サブグループにて増加しており、年間平均%ポイント変化は0.3~0.7、全体では0.5であった。また、女性、25~34歳、非ヒスパニック系白人、大卒未満以上の学歴、都市部在住者、中西部および西部在住者では増加傾向は失速しており、例えば都市部に住む成人では2008年~2010年は年1.1%増加したが、2010~2015年は年0.1%の増加、その後2015~2017年は年1.6%の増加であった。地方に住む成人ではガイドラインを満たす割合が2008~2009年:19.8%に比べ2016~2017年:24.4%にて高く、ヒスパニック系(2008~2009年:11.0%、2016~2017年:12.4%)、大卒者(25.5%、28.0%)、南部在住者(13.2%、14.7%)を除くすべてのサブグループにて有意に増加していた。適切な身体活動は冠動脈性心疾患、脳卒中、肥満、2型糖尿病などの慢性疾患のリスクを低下させる可能性があり、都市部および地方のコミュニティはエビデンスに基づくアプローチにより、すべての年齢および能力の住民に安全かつ簡単な身体活動を選択させることが可能となると思われる。
