Tobacco Product Use Among Youths With and Without Lifetime Asthma — Florida, 2016
生涯に喘息の有無による若者のたばこ製品使用 ― フロリダ州、2016年
入手し得る多様なたばこ製品の増加は、若者におけるたばこ製品の使用パターンを複雑にしてきた。どのような形でもニコチン含有製品の若者による使用は安全ではなく、喘息を有する若者での可燃性たばこ製品、特に紙巻たばこの使用は、症状の悪化、喘息のコントロール不良、および医療管理の必要性の増加に関連している。研究では、喘息を有する若者は喘息のない若者と同等かそれ以上の割合で、たばこ製品の使用を含む健康リスク行動を選択することが示唆されているが、これらの研究では、しばしば、高校生間でのたばこ製品の種類が一部のリストに限定されている。過去に喘息の診断を受けているかにかかわらず、フロリダ州の中学校(6~8年生)および高等学校(9~12年生)の生徒における5つのたばこ製品[紙巻たばこ、電子たばこ(e-巻きたばこ、e-葉巻、ベイプパイプ、vaping pen、e-水たばこ、hookah penと定義)、水たばこ、無煙たばこ、葉巻]のいずれかの現在の使用(過去30日間に1日以上)を調査するため、フロリダ州保健部門は2016年のFlorida Youth Tobacco Surveyのデータを分析した。2016年では、フロリダ州でこれまで喘息と診断された生徒は、中学校で19.5%、高等学校で20.6%であった。各たばこ製品の現在の使用は、喘息のある生徒で喘息のない生徒と比べ、かなり高かった。喘息のある生徒のうち中学校では11.1%、高等学校では27.9%、喘息のない生徒のうち中学校では7.9%、高等学校では24.2%が何らかのたばこ製品を現在、使用していた。複数のたばこ製品の使用は、喘息のある現在の使用者では、中学校で4.2%、高等学校で10.9%が報告したが、喘息のない生徒では中学校で2.8%、高等学校で8.6%であった。たばこ製品の中では電子たばこが最も使用され、中学校および高等学校で、喘息のある生徒では各7.9%、19.6%、喘息のない生徒では各5.8%、17.2%であった。州全体のたばこ予防戦略は、若者、特に喘息患者の間でのたばこ製品使用のあらゆる形態を減らすのに役立つ可能性がある。
