Surveillance for Waterborne Disease Outbreaks Associated with Drinking Water — United States, 2011–2012
飲料水に関連する水系感染症のアウトブレイクに関するサーベイランス ― アメリカ、2011~2012年
2011~2012年、CDC Waterborne Disease and Outbreak Surveillance Systemに飲料水によるアウトブレイクが14州より32件報告された。これらのアウトブレイクによる患者数は431例、102例(24%)が入院し、14例が死亡した。病原菌は30件(90%)にて明らかとなり、レジオネラ菌が21件(66%)と最も多く、患者数は111例(25.8%)、入院例は91例(89%)、死亡者は全例レジオネラ菌によるものであった。ノロウイルスは2件、138例(32.0%、入院および死亡例なし)、非レジオネラ細菌は3件、90例(20.9%;うち志賀毒素産生性大腸菌:56例、赤痢菌:22例、パントエアアグロメランス:12例)であり、他に寄生虫(2件)、化学物質(1件)などを認めた。アウトブレイクの発生場所は病院/保健施設:16件(50%)、ホテル:4件(13%)、キャンプ/キャビン:3件(9%)が多かった。給水系統別では地域の水道システムが25件(78.1%)、184例(42.7%)を占め、他に非地域システム:5件(222例、51.5%)、容器入り飲料水:2件(25例、5.8%)、水源別では地表水:18件(120例、27.8%)、地下水:11件(261例、60.6%)であった。また、症状は急性胃腸疾患が71.5%ともっとも多く認められた。このような飲料水に関連するアウトブレイクの予防にはビルの給排水システムや地下水系のシステムの定期的な検査と監視が重要であると思われる。
