WHO Global Rotavirus Surveillance Network: A Strategic Review of the First 5 Years, 2008–2012

WHOの世界的ロタウイルスサーベイランスネットワーク：最初の5年間の戦略的レビュー、2008～2012年

2008年よりWHOはGlobal Rotavirus Surveillance Networkを展開し、定点病院および研究室によるサーベイランスネットワークから保健省およびWHOに急性胃腸炎で入院した5歳未満の幼児の臨床症状およびロタウイルス検査結果が報告されている。2011～2012年には、55カ国169カ所よりサーベイランスデータが報告されており、データ分析対象となりうる基準を満たすデータは37カ国79カ所（47％）であり、うち32カ国63カ所（80％）はGAVIアライアンス支援対象基準を満たしていた。データ分析対象におけるロタウイルス検出率は、検査した75,353例において36％であり、6～11カ月齢にて42％と最も高かった。遺伝子型はG1P[8]、G2P[4]、G3P[8]、G4P[8]、G9P[8]の5種類が多く認められた。WHOのStrategic Advisory Group of Experts（SAGE）on Immunizationは2013年11月、戦略的レビューにて得られた知見に基づき、サーベイランスの目的を現在および将来的なワクチン導入の判断を照準とすることに修正し、症例ベースの臨床および研究室データとシステム評価のモニタリングデータをリンクさせ、ワクチン接種により予防可能な他の疾患のサーベイランスシステムの基本骨格となりうるようプログラムの質を向上させると発表した。
