エボラウイルス疾患のアウトブレイク ― 西アフリカ、2014年

2014年3月21日、ギアナの健康省に発熱、重度の下痢、嘔吐、高い致死率(59％)を特徴とする疾患のアウトブレイク(49例)が報告された。フランスのパスツール研究所で20例の検体を検査し、15例がエボラウイルス陽性を示した。エボラウイルス疾患(EVD)はギアナ南東部のゲケドゥ、マセンタ、キシドゥグおよび首都のコナクリにて報告され、その後、3月30日までに隣接するリベリアのフォヤ地区に広がり、5月にはシエラレオネにて1例目が確認された。6月18日の時点でEVDはギアナ、リベリア、シエラレオネの3ヵ国にて528例報告され、うち337例が死亡している(致死率:64％)。国別ではギアナ:398例(死亡:264、致死率:66％)、シエラレオネ:97例(死亡:49例、致死率:51％)、リベリア:33例(死亡:24例、致死率:73％)となっている。今回のアウトブレイクは広範囲へ拡大し、公衆衛生設備が不十分であることからコントロールが困難となり、2014年6月、WHOはGlobal Outbreak Alert and Response Networkを介してCDCや他の機関にウイスル拡大の停止および防止に必要な人員および協力が必要であると判断し、支援を要求している。
