Cigarette Prices and Smoking Prevalence After a Tobacco Tax Increase — Turkey, 2008 and 2012

たばこ税の引上げ後における紙巻たばこ価格と喫煙率 ― トルコ、2008年および2012年

トルコでは中所得国として4年間に2回(2008年と2012年)、Global Adult Tobacco Survey(GATS)による調査が行われた。この調査の間、2010年にたばこ税が引上げされ、また、公共施設での禁煙、広告の禁止、たばこの警告表示などが行われた。今回、たばこ税の引上げ前後における紙巻たばこ価格および喫煙率の変化について報告する(GATS回答率：2008年93.7％、2012年90.1％)。インフレ補正後、紙巻たばこ(20本)の平均価格は2008年：4.0トルコリラから2012年：5.7トルコリラと42.1％上昇し、喫煙率は30.1％から25.7％へ14.6％低下した。喫煙率の低下は社会経済的地位の低い層にて最も大きく、富指数別ではbottom：－30.3％、middle：－13.9％、top：－11.1％であった。トルコの喫煙率は世界的に高く、今回の価格の変化による調査結果は他の低および中所得国の政策立案の参考となると思われる。
