Epilepsy in Adults and Access to Care － United States, 2010　

成人におけるてんかんとケアの利用－アメリカ、2010年

成人におけるてんかんの罹患率、ケアの利用および提供について、2010年のNational Health Interview Survey(NHIS)データの分析が行われた。調査対象成人27,139名のうち、てんかん患者は480名(1.8%、アメリカ全体で約410万人に相当)であり、うち275名(1.0%、同230万人)は活動性てんかん(てんかんの既往があり、現在も服薬中)、198名(0.8%、同170万人)は非活動性てんかん(1年間発作がなく、現在服薬していない)であった。活動性、非活動性てんかんともに年齢、性別、教育レベルによる有意な相違は認められなかったが、てんかんの既往および活動性てんかんは白人、黒人、低所得者層(年収＜＝$34,999)にて多く認められ、低所得者層での活動性/非活動性てんかんの罹患率は1.9/1.2%(計3.1%)であった。調査時前12ヵ月間に家庭医を受診したてんかん患者は76.6%(活動性:86.4%、非活動性:63.0%)と非てんかん患者(66.1%)に比べ有意に多く認められ、年齢別では18～34歳:65.7%、35～54歳:77.6%、55～64歳:79.6%、65歳以上:93.1%と年齢に伴う増加が認められた。神経科医またはてんかん専門医を受診した患者は全体で33.4%、活動性てんかん患者では52.8%であり、年齢、性別、人種/民族による有意な相違は認めなかった。
