成人における室内日焼け装置の使用－アメリカ、2010年

アメリカにおいて皮膚癌は最も発症率の高い癌であり、室内日焼け装置による紫外線曝露は皮膚癌の回避可能な危険因子として重要である。青少年と成人における日焼け用の人工的紫外線源の使用率低下はHealthy People 2020の目標のひとつになっており、現在の室内日焼け制限に関する州レベルの政策は18歳未満の青少年を対象としている。アメリカの成人における過去12ヶ月間の室内日焼けの実施率を調査するため、CDCとNational Cancer InstituteはNational Health Interview Survey(NHIS)の2010年のデータを分析した。過去12ヶ月間の室内日焼けの実施率は、全体で5.6%であった。サブグループ別では白人(8.1%)、女性(8.9%)、18～21歳群(12.3%)と22～25歳群(12.3%)で室内日焼けの実施率が高く、18～21歳と22～25歳の白人女性の実施率(それぞれ31.8%、29.6%)は最高であった。また室内日焼けを行った白人女性の57.7%(18～21歳群:67.6%)と白人男性の40.0%は過去12ヶ月間に10回以上室内日焼けを行っていた。今後アメリカの成人、特に白人・女性・18～25歳群を対象とした室内日焼けを減少させる戦略の立案と実施が必要である。
