State-Specific Secondhand Smoke Exposure and Current Cigarette Smoking Among Adults － United States, 2008

州別の受動喫煙曝露と成人の現在喫煙率－アメリカ、2008年

受動喫煙(SHS)は喫煙しない成人や小児に対して心疾患や肺癌などを引き起こす。家庭内および職場内でのSHS曝露の状況と家庭内禁煙規則の普及率を評価するため、CDCは11州およびU.S. バージン諸島(USVI)における2008年のBehavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System(BRFSS)のデータを分析した。18歳以上の非喫煙成人(今までの喫煙歴が100本未満、現在非喫煙者)における家庭内SHS曝露率は 3.2%(アリゾナ州)～10.6%(ウェストバージニア州)、職場内SHS曝露率は6.0%(テネシー州)～17.3%(USVI)と、州によってかなりの違いがみられた。家庭内禁煙規則の普及率は 68.8%(ウェストバージニア州)～85.7%(USVI)であった。次に、50州、ワシントンDC、3準州(グアム、プエルトリコ、USVI)におけるBRFSSデータに基づいた2008年の州別推定現在喫煙率を報告する。2008年の50州とワシントンDCにおける成人の現在喫煙率中央値は 18.4%であり、男性が20.4%、女性が16.7%であった。現在喫煙率は前年と同様、地域差が大きかった(6.5%[USVI]～27.4%[グアム])。禁煙とする職場および他の公共スペースを増加させるため、今後さらなる法律制定が必要である。また健康管理者は家庭内完全禁煙の実施を奨励し続けるべきである。
