関節炎に起因する労働制限の州別有病率－米国、2003年

Healthy People 2010の目標のひとつとして、関節炎により報酬を得るための労働が制限される医師診断関節炎成人数の減少がある。関節炎起因性労働制限(AAWL)の州別有病率と労働年齢(18～64歳)の米国AAWL成人の雇用率を調査するため、CDCは2003年Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System(BRFSS)サーベイのデータを分析した。それによると、2003年の全労働年齢成人におけるAAWLの州別有病率(中央値)は6.7%(3.4%[ハワイ州]～15.0%[ケンタッキー州])であった。全州および準州における年齢別のAAWL有病率は45～64歳群が11.7%(5.5%[ハワイ州]～23.5%[ケンタッキー州])、18～44歳群が3.9%(2.1%[ハワイ州]～9.6%[ケンタッキー州])であり、高齢者群の有病率は若齢者群のほぼ3倍であった。自己報告・医師診断関節炎におけるAAWLの有病率は33.0%(25.1%[ネバダ州]～51.3%[ケンタッキー州])であった。50州およびワシントンDCにおける全労働年齢集団の雇用率は73.2%(60.6%[ウェストバージニア州]～82.0%[サウスダコタ州])であったが、医師診断関節炎患者の雇用率は64.3%(47.6%[ケンタッキー州]～77.1%[サウスダコタ州])とかなり低く、AAWL患者の雇用率は48.7%(32.9%[ケンタッキー州]～67.7%[サウスダコタ州])とさらに低かった。関節炎患者の雇用促進のためにはさらなる介入が必要と考える。
