Health Hazard Evaluation of Police Officers and Firefighters After Hurricane Katrina － New Orleans, Louisiana, October 17-28 and November 30-December 5, 2005

ハリケーンカトリーナ後の警察官および消防士の健康ハザードの評価－ルイジアナ州ニューオーリンズ、2005年10月17日～28日、11月30日～12月5日

2005年8月29日のハリケーンカトリーナ上陸後、ニューオーリンズの警察官と消防士において損傷や身体疾患、精神的ストレスの増加が報告されたことから、CDCはハリケーン上陸から7－13週後にこれら2グループの健康ハザードを調査した。New Orleans Police Department（NOPD）の職員には10月17日－28日、New Orleans Fire Department（NOFD）の職員には11月30日－12月5日に質問票を配布した。NOPDの警察官912名、NOFDの消防士525名が回答した。回答者の年齢中央値は警察官が37歳（19－78歳）、消防士が42歳（20－64歳）であり、警察官の80%、消防士の96%が男性であった。警察官258名、消防士254名は鼻・口・目が洪水の水に触れたと回答し、警察官473名と消防士330名は洪水地域で市民の救助にあたっていた。また警察官618名と消防士288名はこの調査中家族と別居していた。身体症状と損傷の有病率は警察官と消防士とで差がみられず、身体症状は上気道症状（警察官:28%、消防士:31%）と皮疹（それぞれ54%、49%）が、損傷は裂傷（20%、24%）と捻挫/挫傷（13%、25%）が多かった。また警察官170名と消防士114名はPTSD（心的外傷後ストレス障害）症状、警察官227名と消防士133名は大うつ病があると回答した。警察官や消防士などの非常事態対応者の疾患・損傷リスクを低下させるためには、災害準備計画の中に非常事態対応者の安全と健康に関する項目を組み込み、非常事態対応者には災害時特有の職務について定期的にトレーニングを行う必要がある。
