Self-Reported Asthma Among High School Students - United States, 2003

高校生における自己報告喘息－アメリカ、2003年

喘息はアメリカの小児における主要な慢性疾患である。アメリカの高校生における自己報告された喘息および喘息発作について調査するため、CDCは50州およびワシントンDCにおける公立・私立学校の9-12年生の生徒を対象とした全国的調査であるYouth Risk Behavior Survey(YRBS)の2003年のデータを分析した。全体として高校生の18.9%は医師か看護師により喘息と診断された経験があった。人種/民族別の喘息既往率は、ラテンアメリカ系(15.6%)が黒人(21.3%)や白人(19.3%)より有意に低かった。また16.1%は現在喘息に罹患していた。喘息罹患率もラテンアメリカ系(12.9%)が黒人(16.8%)や白人(17.0%)より有意に低く、学年別では10年生(15.0%)が9年生(17.5%)に比べ有意に低かった。現在喘息に罹患している学生のうち37.9%は、調査前の12ヶ月間に喘息あるいは喘息発作のエピソードが発現していた。エピソード発現率は女性(44.5%)が男性(31.1%)より、9年生(45.0%)が10年生(36.4%)より高率であった。喘息の一次予防戦略は存在しないが、喘息はコントロールが可能である。したがって学生、その家族、学校、健康管理者および公衆衛生専門家は協力して学生の喘息管理を改善する必要がある。
