レストラン、バー収入に対する禁煙条例の影響－エルパソ,テキサス州,2002年

2004年1月現在、国内5州(カリフォルニア、コネチカット、デラウエア、メイン、ニューヨーク)および72都市にて職場、レストラン、バーでの喫煙が全面禁止されている。テキサス州エルパソでは、2002年1月2日よりあらゆる公共の場、レストラン、バーを含む職場において禁煙条例が導入され、今回、Texas Department of Health(TDH)およびCDCにより導入前12年間と導入後1年間のデータから禁煙によるレストランやバーの収入への影響が分析された。その結果、月別売り上げの推移において、禁煙の影響はレストラン、バーいずれにおいても認められず、変化率はレストラン0.2%、バー0.03%であった。
