Adults Who Have Never Seen a Health-Care Provider for Chronic Joint Symptoms - United States, 2001

医療機関受診歴のない成人慢性関節症症例－アメリカ,2001年

18歳以上の成人を対象とした国内50州およびワシントンDC、グアム、プエルトリコ、バージン諸島における慢性関節症(CJS)に関するBehavior Risk Factor Surveillance System(BRFSS)の2001年データがCDCにより分析された。過去12ヶ月以内の関節の痛み、疼き、硬直または腫脹の有無の問いに、「はい」と回答した人をCJS症例、「ない」「わからない」または回答を拒否した人を非CJS症例とした。さらに医師などの専門家の受診歴と日常生活上の制限の有無を質問した。回答率は51.4%で、約4,750万人がCJS症例であった。CJS症例の1,030万人(21.7%)は医療機関受診歴がなく、うち200万人は日常生活に制限があると回答した。受診率は若年者、男性、ラテンアメリカ系、高卒以下の学歴を有する人、現在の健康状態が良好な人、健康保険のない人、かかりつけの医師のない人、症状による制限がない人で低かった。州別では13.5%(プエルトリコ)－37.2%(グアム)で、南部/西部で高く、北東部/プエルトリコで低い傾向が認められた。
