Enterovirus Surveillance - United States, 2000-2001

エンテロウイルスのサーベイランス－米国，2000～2001年

27施設が参加したNational Enterovirus Surveillance System(NESS)による調査結果に基づき、2000－2001年に米国で報告されたエンテロウイルス感染症の傾向について検討した。2000－2001年におけるエンテロウイルスの検出は2000年に36州で735件、2001年に30州で1,584件、計40州で2,319件報告された。この期間中には、1990年代の傾向と同様に未知の血清型を有するエンテロウイルスの報告率の増加がみられた(1997－1999年 : 13%、2000－2001年 : 20%)。既知のエンテロウイルス血清型としては、2000年にはコクサッキーウイルスB5が最も多く検出されたが、2001年には以前はほとんど検出されなかったエコーウイルス13およびエコーウイルス18の検出報告が最多となった。これら2種類のウイルス活性亢進の確認は、2001年に米国6州で大発生した無菌性髄膜炎の調査指針に有用であった。エンテロウイルスのより完全なサーベイランスのためには、よりタイムリーな報告とNESSへの参加施設の増加が必要である。
