Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Infant Mortality Rates - 60 Largest U.S. Cities, 1995-1998

乳児死亡率における人種/民族による相違－アメリカ60大都市，1995～1998年

人口25万人以上の大都市における乳児死亡率(IMRs : 生存出生乳児1,000例あたりの死亡数)を、非スパニッシュ白人、非スパニッシュ黒人、スパニッシュにおいて比較した。平均死亡率は、1,000名あたり4.5から15.4(中央値7.8)であり、人種別では、黒人 : 13.9、白人 : 6.4、スパニッシュ : 5.9と、黒人にて高値を示し、49都市にて白人の1.4倍から4.8倍であった。IMRsが高値を示す都市(中西部、南東部および北東部)では、黒人の出生が多く(36.8－82.4%)、低値を示す都市(太平洋西部および西部中央部)では0.7%から25.0%と低く、スパニッシュの出生が7.1%から86.0%と高率に認められた。CDCでは人種による死亡率の相違を是正するため、様々なプロジェクトを実施している。
