Workflow from Request to Delivery

    We will prepare a quote based on the volume and your desired delivery date.

    We select the most suitable reviser (native speaker) based on the content.
  3. 3 Revision
    Native speakers with extensive specialized knowledge revise your manuscript.
  4. 4 Quality check
    We check the quality of the revised manuscript.
  5. 5 Delivery
    We will deliver the final product via your preferred method, such as email or a file-sharing service.
    We are also available to answer any questions you may have regarding the revised contents (please send your questions in English).

The total amount billed will be the revision fee plus the basic handling fee(s).

  • Special discounted rates are available for IMIC Supporting Members, academic organizations, and researchers.

Basic Handling Fee

Basic handling fee (per item) 1,100 yen
  • 550 yen when the minimum charge applies.
  • Fees may vary depending on the format and volume of the manuscript.
  • For large-scale revision projects, we will charge 10% of the total invoice amount (excluding consumption tax) as a general administration fee.
  • We also offer partial revision (by sentence). Please contact us for details.

Can I use IMIC's English revision service as an individual?

We apologize, but we are unable to accept English revision requests from private individuals. If you are affiliated with a hospital, educational institution, or corporation, please let us know your affiliation and we will provide a quote.

Can you revise my manuscript in accordance with the submission guidelines of a specific journal?

We apologize, but we do not offer revision services specifically tailored to journal submission guidelines. If there is a word count limit, please let us know, and we will inform the reviser accordingly.
*Since we focus primarily on grammar, the word count may increase unavoidably after revision.

Can I ask questions after reviewing the revised manuscript?

Please feel free to ask questions if there are sections the reviser could not understand and therefore could not correct, or if a section was corrected in a way that differs from your intended meaning. We will re-revise those sections as part of our follow-up support. Please send your questions in English. Additional charges may apply to a request for revision of any added sentences unrelated to the revised sections.

Can you issue a language editing certificate?

We can issue a language editing certificate in Japanese or English. Please let us know prior to delivery.

How are the revisions indicated?

We generally use MS Word’s Track Changes feature for revision. For files other than Word, we use colored text and strikethroughs. In either case, we will deliver the document in a format that clearly shows how the manuscript has been revised.

Can you revise English manuscripts created using machine translation or AI translation?

Yes, we can, but depending on the quality of the English text, there is a risk that our reviser may not be able to understand the meaning and thus may not be able to revise it adequately. To ensure the text conveys the intended meaning accurately, we recommend that you verify that the machine-translated text reflects your intended message before sending it to us.
