Screening of Blood Donations for Zika Virus Infection — Puerto Rico, April 3–June 11, 2016

献血のジカウイルス感染症スクリーニング ― プエルトリコ、2016年4月3日～6月11日

2016年2月、FDAはアメリカ国内およびアメリカ領土におけるジカウイルス感染リスク抑制のため、献血スクリーニング、献血ドナー猶予および製品管理に関する勧告を発表し、すべてのエリアにてドナーに対する行動的、健康的リスクに関する問診を行い、さらに最近まで蚊を媒介するジカウイルス感染を認める地域に住んでいた、または旅行した非感染地域の居住者に対しドナー猶予を推奨している。プエルトリコでは4月3日から、献血にて採取された血液を新しく開発された核酸検査を用いてスクリーニングを実施しており、6月11日までに12,777検体が検査された。うち68検体(0.5％)がウイルス血症ドナーと推定され、発現率は6月5日～11日の週がもっとも高く(1.1％)、プエルトリコでのジカウイルス感染率の増加を反映するものと考えられた。ジカウイルス疾患の治療および予防に有効なワクチンや薬は現時点ではないため、感染の予防には蚊に咬まれないように防止する、蚊が繁殖する場所を排除する、性的感染を防ぐなどの措置が取られる。献血スクリーニングにより輸血による感染リスクを低下し、ドナー猶予、病原体を除去する技術などもリスクの低下に有効な手段であると思われる。
