Tobacco Use Among Middle and High School Students — United States, 2011–2015

ミドルスクールおよびハイスクールの生徒における喫煙 ― アメリカ、2011～2015年

CDCとFDAはNational Youth Tobacco Survey (NYTS)データより、2011～2015年のミドルスクール(6～8年生)およびハイスクール(9～12年生)における7種類のたばこ製品の喫煙状況を分析した。サンプル対象と回答率は、2011年：18,866人(72.7％)、2012年：24,658人(73.6％)、2013年：18,406人(67.8％)、2014年：22,007人(73.3％)、2015年：17,711人(63.4％)であり、紙たばこ、葉巻、無煙たばこ、電子たばこ、水たばこ、パイプたばこおよびビディの過去30日以内の喫煙状況についてまとめた。2015年、ハイスクールでは25.3％の生徒が30日以内にいずれかを喫煙しており、13.0％は2種類以上を喫煙していた。製品別では電子たばこ：16.0％、紙たばこ：9.3％、葉巻：8.6％、水たばこ：7.2％、無煙たばこ：6.0％、パイプたばこ：1.0％、ビディ：0.6％の順であり、男女別では男性：30.0％(2種類以上：16.2％)、女性：20.3％(同9.6％)であった。また、非ヒスパニック系白人およびヒスパニック系の生徒は電子たばこ、非ヒスパニック系黒人の生徒は紙たばこが最も多かった。ミドルスクールでは7.4％の生徒が30日以内にいずれかを喫煙しており、3.3％は2種類以上の製品を使用していた。製品別では電子たばこ：5.3％、紙たばこ：2.3％、水たばこ：2.0％、無煙たばこ：1.8％、葉巻：1.6％、パイプたばこ：0.4％、ビディ：0.2％の順であり、男女別では男性：8.3％(2種類以上：3.5％)、女性：6.4％(同3.1％)であった。また、ヒスパニック系の生徒はいずれの製品の喫煙率、2種類以上の喫煙率が高かった。2011～2015年にてハイスクールでは電子たばこおよび水たばこの喫煙率が増加(それぞれ1.5から16.0％、4.1から7.2％)、紙たばこ(15.8から9.3％)、無煙たばこ(7.9から6.0％)、葉巻(11.6から8.6％)、パイプたばこ(4.0から1.0％)、ビディ(2.0から0.6％)の喫煙率は低下し、全体での喫煙率に有意な変動は認めなかった(24.2から25.3％)。ミドルスクールでも電子たばこ(0.6から5.3％)、水たばこ(1.0から2.0％)の喫煙率が増加、他の製品の喫煙率は低下した。また、たばこ製品の喫煙者数は全体で470万人(ハイスクール：382万人、ミドルスクール：88万人)、2種類以上の製品の喫煙者数は230万人以上と推定された。
