Adults Eligible for Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Counseling and Participation in Aerobic Physical Activity — United States, 2013
心血管系疾患予防カウンセリングの対象となる成人と有酸素運動への参加― アメリカ、2013年
2014年8月、U.S. Preventive Services Task Forceは体重過多(BMI:25.0~29.9)、肥満(BMI≧30.0)および心血管系疾患(CVD)リスク因子(高血圧、脂質異常症、または空腹時血糖値異常)のある成人に対し、CVD予防のための健康的ダイエットおよび身体活動を推進する行動的カウンセリングを受けるよう推奨している。2013年のBehavioral Risk Factor Surveillance Systemデータの分析から、このカウンセリングの対象となる成人は全体で36.8%(男性:40.0%、女性:33.5%)と推定され、年齢別では18~24歳:6.6%、65歳以上:56.4%と年齢に伴い増加し、人種別では非ヒスパニック系白人:37.6%、ヒスパニック系:32.6%に比べ、非ヒスパニック系黒人:43.3%にて有意に多く、学歴別では高卒未満:42.3%にて大卒:31.8%に比べ有意に多かった。また、50州(およびワシントンDC)の州別では、29.0%(ユタ州)~44.6%(テネシー州)、地域別では南部:39.4%にて高く、中西部:36.9%、北東部:36.0%、西部:33.2%であった。身体活動を2008 Physical Activity Guidelines for Americansにて推奨される運動(週150分以上の軽~中程度の有酸素運動または週75分以上の激しい有酸素運動、またはこれらに相当する組み合わせ)とした場合、カウンセリングの対象となる成人では54.0%がこのガイドラインの基準に達しておらず、対象とならない成人(46.4%)に比べ有意に多かった。CVD予防カウンセリングの対象であり、身体活動の基準に達しない成人は、全成人の19.9%を占めており、州別では12.4%(ハワイ州)~28.8%(ミシシッピ州)であった。CVDの予防にはガイドラインに従って身体活動を推進することが重要と思われる。
