Preliminary Incidence and Trends of Infection with Pathogens Transmitted Commonly Through Food — Foodborne Diseases Active Surveillance Network, 10 U.S. Sites, 2006–2014
一般的な食品媒介病原菌による感染症に関する予備的な発症率とその傾向 ― Foodborne Diseases Active Surveillance Network、アメリカ10カ所、2006~2014年
Foodborne Diseases Active Surveillance Network(FoodNet)は、アメリカ国内の10カ所の区域において、食品を介して伝染する9つの病原菌に起因する感染症の発生率を監視している。今回のレポートでは、2014年の予備的データと2006~2008年および2011~2013年と比較した発生率の変化を報告する。2014年では、19,542例の感染が報告され、このうち、入院は4,445例、死亡は71例であった。菌種別の発生数および人口10万あたりの発生率は、Salmonella(7,452例、15.45)、Campylobacter(6,486例、13.45), Shigella(2,801例、 5.81)、Cryptosporidium(1,175例、2.44)、志賀毒素産生性大腸菌(STEC) non-O157(690例、1.43)、STEC O157(445例、0.92)、Vibrio(216例、0.45)、Yersinia(133例、0.28)、Listeria(118例、0.24)、Cyclospora(26例、0.05)であった。アウトブレイクに関連した感染のパーセンテージは、STEC O157(16%)、Listeria(11%)、STEC non-O157(7%)、Shigella(7%)、Salmonella(6%)、Vibrio(6%)、Cryptosporidium(5%)、Yersinia(0.8%)、Campylobacter(0.6%)であった。2006~2008年と比べ、2014年のSTEC O-157(32%減)およびYersina(22%減)の発生率は有意に減少したが、Vibrio(52%増)およびCampylobacter(13%増)の発生率は増加した。Salmonellaの主な血清型のうち、 Typhimuriumの発生率(27%減)は有意に減少したが、Infantis(162%増) およびJaviana(131%増)の発生率は上昇した。2011~2013年と比べ、2014年のSTEC O-157およびSalmonella血清型Typhimurium感染の発生率は低下したが、STEC non-O157およびSalmonella血清型Infantisの発生率は上昇した。2013年では、18歳未満の小児に下痢後の溶血性尿毒症症候群(HUS)が87例報告され、このうち46例(53%)は5歳未満(10万人あたり1.55)であり、2006~2008年の発生率と有意な差はなかった。継続的な食品安全の取り組みにもかかわらず、感染症の発生率は依然として高く、食品をより安全なものとし健康目標を達成するために、さらなる予防法が必要である。
