Vital Signs: Obesity Among Low-Income, Preschool-Aged Children — United States, 2008–2011

バイタルサイン:低所得層の就学前小児における肥満―アメリカ、2008～2011年

CDCのPediatric Nutrition Surveillance System (PedNSS)に参加する40州、ワシントンDC、ヴァージン諸島およびプエルトリコにおいて、2008～2011年に低所得層の就学前小児(2～4歳)約1,160万人の身長と体重を測定し、肥満率の推定を行った。肥満は2000年のCDC成長チャートより、年齢および性別の95パーセンタイル以上とし、州/地域別平均サンプル数は2,516名(ヴァージン諸島)～294,209名(カリフォルニア州)であった。2008～2011年において、肥満率は19の州/地域にて低下し(0.3～2.6％)、ヴァージン諸島にて最も顕著であり(2008年:13.6％、2011年:11.0％)、フロリダ、ジョージア、ミズーリ、ニュージャージー、サウスダコタ州にて1％以上の低下を認めた。20州およびプエルトリコでは有意な変化は認められず、3州(コロラド、テネシー、ペンシルベニア州)にて有意な増加が認められた。2011年における州/地域別肥満率は9.2％(ハワイ州)～17.9％(プエルトリコ)であり、10の州/地域にて15％以上、6の州/地域にて12％を下回っていた。小児期の肥満は成人肥満につながるため、今後も健康的な食事と適度な運動による肥満の予防が重要である。
