Microbes in Pool Filter Backwash as Evidence of the Need for Improved Swimmer Hygiene － Metro-Atlanta, Georgia, 2012

泳者の衛生改善の必要性を示すエビデンスであるプールフィルター逆洗における微生物－メトロアトランタ、ジョージア州、2012年

プールなどの遊泳施設において水中の微生物等はフィルターで除去されるが、2012年の夏、メトロアトランタの公営プールにて採取されたフィルターの逆洗サンプルから緑膿菌が検出された(95/161サンプル、59%)。2012年6～8月、Cobb、DeKalb、Fulton、Gwinnettの4つの郡および州の環境・健康専門家がCDCと共同で公共プールにおいて検査用サンプルを採取した。フィルターを30秒逆洗した水をサンプルとして1リットル採水し、すぐに2.5mLの10%チオ硫酸ナトリウム液を用いて中和し、大腸菌、緑膿菌、ランブル鞭毛虫、クリプトスポリジウム、病原性大腸菌O157:H7、ノロウイルスGI/GIIおよびアデノウイルスをqPCR法にて分析した。その結果、緑膿菌を95サンプル(59%)、大腸菌:93サンプル(58%)、ランブル鞭毛虫:2サンプル、クリプトスポリジウム:1サンプルが検出され、他は検出されなかった。大腸菌の検出率は、公営プールで会員制プールより有意に高かったが、緑膿菌や他の微生物は、屋内/屋外、会員制/公営/ウォーターパーク、成人小児用/幼児用プールによる有意差を認めなかった。また、緑膿菌の検出率は従来の塩素/UV消毒を行っているプールにて9/21(43%)、塩素/オゾン消毒(1/1、100%)、塩素(74/125、59%)、塩素(塩水から生成)(11/14、79%)であった。緑膿菌は環境的要因(ほこりなど)、泳者および媒介物(キックボードなど)が原因であるため、清掃および水質管理の徹底が必要であり、また、大腸菌は泳者が持ち込んだものと考えられるため、入水前に(とくに乳幼児)しっかり洗浄し、下痢をしている場合は入水しないなどの対策が必要である。
