Increasing Prevalence of Diagnosed Diabetes － United States and Puerto Rico, 1995-2010

診断された糖尿病の罹患率の増加－アメリカおよびプエルトリコ、1995～2010年

2010年、アメリカにおける糖尿病診断例は1,880万例、未診断例は700万例と推定されており、1990年以降、すべての年齢層において性別、人種/民族に関わらず増加している。1995～2010年のBehavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System(BRFSS)データ(50州およびDC、プエルトリコ)の分析では、年齢補正発症率(中央値)は全体で4.5～8.2%であり、1995年に発症率が6%以上であった州および地域はDC(6.1%)、カリフォルニア州(6.2%)、ミシシッピ州(6.3%)、ルイジアナ州(6.7%)、プエルトリコ(11.7%)であったが、2010年にはすべての州および地域にて6%以上となった。地域別では南部:9.8%、中西部:7.5%、北東部:7.3%、西部:7.3%であり、州別ではアラバマ州(11.3%)、ミシシッピ州(11.7%)、プエルトリコ(12.7%)、サウスカロライナ州(10.0%)、テネシー州(10.6%)、テキサス州(10.0%)、ウエストバージニア州(10.4%)にて10%以上の高値、アラスカ州(6.0%)、コロラド州(6.1%)、コネチカット州(6.7%)、アイオワ州(6.8%)、ミネソタ州(6.4%)、モンタナ州(6.3%)、ノースダコタ州(6.9%)、オレゴン州(6.6%)、サウスダコタ州(6.2%)、ウィスコンシン州(6.6%)、バーモント州(6.1%)、ワイオミング州(6.8%)にて低値であった。この間の上昇率は全体では82.2%(プエルトリコ:8.5%～オクラホマ州:226.7%)であり、42州にて50%以上、18州にて100%以上の上昇率を認め、地域別では南部:104.2%、西部:82.5%、中西部:66.7%、北東部:62.2%であった。以上の結果は糖尿病の発症予防および糖尿病リスク因子の抑制に対する積極的な介入措置の重要性を示唆するものである。
