Tuberculosis Genotyping － United States, 2004-2010　

結核(TB)疾患の起因菌(Mycobacterium tuberculosiscomplex)の遺伝子型解析は、伝播の連鎖を確定あるいは否定するのに十分な鑑別能力を有する。2010年に開始されたポータルサイト、TB Genotyping Information Management System(TB GIMS)は2004年以降の遺伝子型解析結果の体系的な収集を可能にし、1993年以降のNational TB Surveillance System(NTSS)により収集された疫学・地理・人口統計学・臨床データと遺伝子型解析の結果を統合することも可能である。アメリカでは2004年以降、CDC、全国の遺伝子型を解析する研究所、州および地域の公衆衛生局において7万株以上のM.tuberculosisの遺伝子型が解析された。全国のTB遺伝子型サーベイランス実施率(分離株の遺伝子型を解析した培養陽性TB患者の割合)は、2004年の51.2%から2010年には88.2%に増加した。また遺伝子型解析の適時性の指標となる検体採取からTB GIMSユーザーがサーベイランスデータを組み合わせた遺伝子型の解析結果を入手できるまでの期間は、2010年7月の22週間から12月には11週間に短縮した。このようなTBの遺伝子型サーベイランスの実施率と適時性の改善はアウトブレイクのより適時な発見や綿密な疫学研究を可能にし、限られた公衆衛生資源のより良い使用に導く可能性がある。
