Sunburn and Sun Protective Behaviors Among Adults Aged 18-29 Years - United States, 2000-2010
18~29歳の成人における日焼けと日光防御行動-アメリカ、2000~2010年
アメリカにおいて、非黒色腫皮膚癌(主に基底細胞癌と扁平上皮癌)は最も発症頻度の高い悪性腫瘍である。また悪性黒色腫は、発症頻度は低いが致死率が最も高い皮膚癌である。近年、非黒色腫皮膚癌と悪性黒色腫の発症頻度は増加している。皮膚癌のタイプは日光曝露のパターンと関連し、日焼けの原因となるレクリエーションなどによる間欠的な日光曝露は悪性黒色腫や基底細胞癌のリスクと関連している。日焼けの頻度は18~29歳の成人が高齢の成人よりも高いことから、18~29歳の成人における日焼けと日光防御行動の傾向を評価するため、CDCとNational Cancer InstituteはNational Health Interview Survey(NHIS)の2000年、2003年、2005年、2008年、2010年のデータを分析した。18~29歳の女性において最も一般的な日光防御行動はサンスクリーンの使用(2010年37.1%)、日陰/日よけの利用(34.9%)、足首までの丈の長い衣服の着用(25.7%)であり、これら行動の実施率は近年有意に増加した。男性の日光防御行動としても足首までの丈の長い衣服の着用(32.9%)、日陰/日よけの利用(25.6%)、サンスクリーンの使用(15.6%)が最も一般的であり、長い衣服の着用と日陰/日よけの利用の実施率は近年有意に増加した。日焼けの経験率は依然として高く、過去12ヶ月間に少なくとも1回日焼けを経験した18~29歳の成人の割合は2000年50.9%、2005年45.5%、2010年50.1%であった。また人種別の日焼けの経験率は男女とも白人が最も高く(2010年:男性65.3%、女性65.9%)、黒人が最低(男性8.7%、女性12.8%)であった。若年成人の日光防御行動を改善し日焼け(最終的には皮膚癌発症)を防ぐため、効果的な戦略を立て実施する必要がある。
