中高等学校におけるHIV、他のSTDおよび妊娠防止教育－45州、2008～2010年

アメリカでは高校生の46%に性交渉の経験があり、HIV感染症、他の性行為感染症(STD)、妊娠のリスクがあるため、National HIV/AIDS StrategyおよびCommunity Preventive Services Task Force (CPSTF)により、中高等学校の生徒(6～12年生)に対しこれらのリスク抑止に関する教育が展開されている。今回、CDCにより国内45州における2008および2010年のSchool Health Profilesデータが分析され、その教育内容に関する報告がまとめられた。本報告では2010年の分析結果を2008年の結果と比較して述べる。今回の調査は6～8年生に対してはHIV、AIDSの診断、治療および避妊の方法など11項目、9～12年生に対してはHIV、AIDS、妊娠の予防やアルコール、ドラッグとの関連性など8項目およびコンドームに関する3項目に関する指導を対象としており、6～8年生に対する11項目の指導率は43.3(アリゾナ州:12.6～ニューヨーク州:66.3)%、9～12年生に対する8項目の指導率は80.3(アラスカ州:45.3～ニュージャージー州:96.4)%、コンドームに関する3項目の指導率は58.1(ユタ州:11.3～デラウェア州:93.1)%であった。6～8年生に対する11項目のうち5項目については指導率が有意に増加した州はなく、6項目についてはそれぞれ1つの州にて指導率が有意に増加していたが、HIV、STDおよび妊娠の診断および治療に関する指導率は10州にて有意に低下、これらの予防に関する指導率も9州にて有意に低下していた。また、9～12年生に対する8項目のうち5項目については指導率が有意に増加した州はなく、3項目については1～4州にて指導率が有意に増加していた。コンドームに関する項目については1～7州にて指導率の有意な低下認められた。以上、中高等学校でのHIV、STDおよび妊娠の抑止に関する指導はまだまだ努力が足りておらず、年齢相応の性教育の徹底が急がれる。
