労働により負傷した労働者の割合と労働者の賠償システムによる支払い

アメリカでは2007年の労働による非致死性の負傷や病気の報告は約400万に及ぶが、人口ベースの州レベルでの負傷率を推定するシステムは確立していない。今回、CDCは国内10州(カリフォルニア、コネチカット、ケンタッキー、マサチューセッツ、ミシガン、ニュージャージー、ニューヨーク、オレゴン、テキサスおよびワシントン州)の2007 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System(BRFSS)の調査に項目を追加し、過去12ヶ月において労働中に負傷した労働者およびその治療に対する補償保険プログラムの割合を推定した。回答率はニュージャージー州:26.9%～ケンタッキー州:60.1%(中央値:39.0%)であり、過去12ヶ月にて労働により負傷したとの回答は労働者100名あたり4.0(ケンタッキー州)～6.9(ニューヨーク州)(中央値:5.9)であり、医療費を補償保険プログラムにより支払った労働者はテキサス州:47%～ケンタッキー州:77%(中央値:61%)であった。今回の結果から、職業による負傷に関する調査は、人口ベースの調査への補足により実施可能であると考えられ、今後、サーベイランスの強化の必要性が示唆される。
