郡レベルでのラテンアメリカ系10代出産率に対する人口修正の影響－アメリカ,1999年

2002年、ラテンアメリカ系10代の出産率は他の人種/民族集団に比べ高かった。10代での出産に関連する健康上および社会的リスクのため、妊娠予防プログラムと正確な10代出産率調査は重要である。1990年と2000年のアメリカ国勢調査における数値を考慮した1990年代修正人口推計値(中位推計)を用いた影響を評価するため、CDCは1999年の郡レベルでのラテンアメリカ系10代出産率を分析した。1999年の全米284郡における15―19歳のラテンアメリカ系女性の出産率は、1990年の調査に基づいて算出した場合(調査後の推計値)は92.7/1,000人女性、2000年調査を考慮した1990年代修正人口概算値に基づいて算出した場合(中位推計値)は86.8/1,000人女性であった。284郡中219郡(77%)が人口概算値の修正により出産率が低下した。1990年調査に基づいた人口推計値はラテンアメリカ系人の移住を予測しきれていなかったため、15―19歳のラテンアメリカ系女性人口が過小評価され、10代出産率は過大評価された。しかし1999年のラテンアメリカ系10代人口の増加とそれに関連したラテンアメリカ系10代出産率の低下は、全ての郡でみられたわけではなかった。この郡レベルでの相違は、ラテンアメリカ系10代をターゲットとしたプログラムのために必要な情報を提供する。
