Partner Counseling and Referral Services to Identify Persons with Undiagnosed HIV - North Carolina, 2001

アメリカでは生存HIV患者85万－95万人の約1/4が自らの感染や自分がHIV伝播リスクを有していることを認識していない。任意のパートナーカウンセリングおよび紹介サービス(PCRS)はHIV感染者が自分のセックスパートナーや注射針の共用パートナーにHIV検査の必要性を知らせるのに役立ち、パートナーが早期ケアと予防カウンセリングを受けることを可能にする。ノースカロライナ州におけるこれらサービスの効果を評価するため、CDCはNorth Carolina Department of Health and Human Service(NCDHHS)により2001年に収集されたPCRSデータを分析した。ノースカロライナ州では、2001年に1,603例の新規HIV感染例が報告され、うち1,580例(99%)にPCRSが実施された。1,379例(87%)の所在を確認し、インタビューの結果1,532例のセックスパートナーあるいは注射針共有パートナーを同定した。これらパートナー1,532例中592例(39%)は以前にHIV検査を受けていたが、767例(50%)は検査を受けていなかった。HIV検査を以前受けていた592例中404例(68%)はHIV陽性であった。HIV陰性であった188例中122例(65%)は再検査を受け、その結果17例(14%)がHIV陽性であった。HIV検査を受けていない767例中488例(64%)はPCRS後検査を受け、うち108例(22%)がHIV陽性であった。PCRSはHIVハイリスク者をターゲットとした効果的なカウンセリングおよび検査戦略である。地方および州の健康局は、どの包括的HIV予防プログラムにおいても不可欠な項目としてPCRSを考慮すべきである。
