State-Specific Trends in U.S. Live Births to Women Born Outside the 50 States and the District of Columbia - United States, 1990 and 2000

50州およびワシントンDC以外で生まれた女性の米国での出産における州別傾向－米国，1990年および2000年

2000年、米国では50州およびワシントンDC以外で生まれた人が全米人口の約11.1%を占めた。医療効果における人種/民族による不均衡は公衆衛生面で重要であり、文化および言語の多様性の増加は母子保健サービス提供上の問題となっている。50州およびワシントンDC以外で生まれた女性を対象とし1990年と2000年の出産について州別に比較するとともに、母親の特徴および出生予後を米国内で生まれた女性と比較した。国外で生まれた女性による出産数は全米における出産数の1990年15.6%、2000年21.4%であり、両年ともラテンアメリカ系女性による出産が半数以上を占めていた。1990年には6州(カリフォルニア、フロリダ、イリノイ、ニュージャージー、ニューヨーク、テキサス)が国外生まれの女性による出産の75.5%を占めた。また1990－2000年に国外生まれの女性による出産率は6州(アリゾナ、コロラド、ジョージア、ネバダ、ノースカロライナ、オレゴン)で10%以上増加し、その増加の大部分はラテンアメリカ系女性によるものであった。国外生まれの女性は人種/民族の一致した米国内生まれの女性よりも出生予後が良好であった。しかしこれら女性では妊婦管理が遅れてしまう場合や、健康管理サービスを利用する際に経済、文化、言語等の障害による問題を抱えている場合が多い。米国公衆衛生システムおよび母体健康管理者は、増加している様々な人種/民族集団の健康に関する要求を理解し、適切な対応を行う必要がある。
